ATAGO’s New Pocket-Size Dip-Style Salt Meter Plunges Deep into the Food Industry

Bellevue, WA (PRWEB) December 04, 2013

ATAGO USA is proud to announce the newest addition to their salt meter line, the PAL-SALT PROBE. Using conductivity to measure, and housed in a rugged IP65 water-resistant body, this pocket-size meter analyzes the salinity of liquids with just the dip of a probe and the press of a button.

“We are very excited to offer another option in what has proven to be a popular and uncomplicated product line for salt analysis,” says Noah Radford, Product Specialist at ATAGO USA. “The new probe takes an already quick process and makes it truly effortless.”

ATAGO salt meters are used by countless professionals in and out of the food & beverage industry as a quick and easy way to analyze salt content during production. Conductivity-based tests use no reagents, and thus can be carried out right on the line. This eliminates the hassle, hazard, and expense of titrating daily. Titrations are still carried out when necessary to report to governmental agencies, but the ATAGO salt testers make internal checkpoints less intensive on time, labor, and resources, while allowing more frequent, tighter QC on salt levels.

The PAL-SALT PROBE further refines this process with its more direct sampling style: an electrode probe which the user simply dips into a liquid sample. Tis eliminates extra prep required of older salt meters, such as blending or dilution, for products with salinity under 7%, making it well-suited to a vast majority of food and beverage products.

The unit features automatic temperature compensation. Readings under 2% are accurate to 0.1% and displayed to the second decimal place. The PAL-SALT PROBE has tested well on liquid samples, and ATAGO anticipates that it will handle solid and semi-solid samples just as well. They are currently inviting customers to evaluate a demonstration unit in their facility on their own samples.
